The main trait that differentiates green plastics from traditional plastics is that they take as their primary ingredient a biopolymer instead of a synthetic polymer. As a result, many (but not all) of the articles in this list describe a type of biopolymer that can be used in the manufacture of a type of green plastic.

Both this list and the list of traditional plastics are subsets of the complete list of plastics.
